The Coppola Director's Cut Chardonnay is the eponymous director's best-selling wine. A true sensation to drink. The Director's Cut series features wines made from grapes grown in the finest vineyards California has to offer. Francis Ford Coppola is a man with a passion. He loves wine and making it. Only the very best is good enough for Coppola's wines. That's why he acquired several vineyards in California in the past. The result is, among other things, the Director's Cut series. A series of wines featuring the finest grapes from the best wine regions.

Francis Coppola Director's Cut Chardonnay from Russian River Valley

The Chardonnay grapes used for this California wine come from the Russian River Valley. This phenomenal region lies just north of renowned Sonoma County. This area is known for its sublime Chardonnay quality. The cool ocean breeze imparts a subtle freshness and balanced acidity to the grapes. After harvest and fermentation, this California wine is aged for seven months in French oak. The result is truly impressive. This Director's Cut Chardonnay is truly a top-tier California wine.

What does the Director's Cut Chardonnay taste like?

Time to savor. Grab a wine glass and pour this Coppola gem. The aroma immediately reveals its power. Robust and creamy. Complex and pleasant. The seductive notes of ripe apple and pear, vanilla, honey, and toasted oak tickle your nose. A hint of citrus also wafts through. We can't wait to take a sip of this stunner. One sip and we'll be amazed. Robust and full-bodied. Vanilla, oak, butter, and yellow cream create a beautiful palette on the palate. Unfortunately, it's also the most exclusive, as there's a shortage of the right grapes for this special Champagne every year. The Chardonnay grapes come from Ruinart's best vineyards and from contracted winegrowers, all grown in the Côte des Blancs. This area within the Champagne region boasts the best climate and terroir for Chardonnay grapes. Here, these grapes can grow carefree and in peace. All the grapes for this Ruinart Champagne Blanc de Blancs are harvested by hand. This results in an extremely strict selection process for only the finest fruit. As you can imagine, only the best is good enough for this special champagne.

What makes this Ruinart Blanc de Blancs so special?

With hundreds of years of experience and deep expertise, Ruinart succeeds year after year in producing sublime champagnes. The origins of this champagne house date back to 1729, with a history intertwined with Dom Thierry Ruinart, a Benedictine monk and confidant of the sparkling wine pioneer, Dom Pérignon.

What makes this Blanc de Blancs special is that only Chardonnay grapes were chosen. Almost all other Champagnes are made from multiple grape varieties, making it easier to create a proper blend. If only Chardonnay could be used, blending different Chardonnay grapes and vintages is much more challenging. Furthermore, Blanc de Blancs Champagne is very sensitive to light. The beautiful golden yellow color this Champagne possesses is very fragile. If this Champagne is left in its clear bottle in daylight for several days, its quality will deteriorate. Therefore, always store it in a dark place.

The special taste of Ruinart Blanc de Blancs

What's also truly special is the taste of this magnificent Champagne. The nose is rich and full of beautiful, clean aromas of tropical fruit, light hints of citrus, and pleasant mineral notes. The taste, however, required some serious deliberation. Full, ripe, and thick were the first things we noted. Then came the nuances of tropical fruit flavors with a lovely interplay of citrus, yellow cream, brioche, and spring blossom. Take note! San Marzano Edda Bianco is heaven on earth for all Chardonnay lovers. A world-class paradise. The very best Puglia has to offer. While San Marzano excels at crafting wines primarily from indigenous grape varieties, such as Malvasia, Negroamaro, and Primitivo, this Chardonnay is perhaps the jewel in the crown. This renowned international all-rounder is a top contender at various wine competitions worldwide. A sensational Chardonnay you won't want to stop drinking.

Powerhouse this San Marzano Edda

Although Puglia is primarily the domain of Italian grape varieties, Chardonnay also thrives here. This is partly due to the cool sea breeze that blows through the vineyards at night, allowing the grapes to develop the necessary freshness. This ensures that San Marzano Edda Bianco never becomes too acidic or too heavy. Harvest takes place quite early in the season, as early as mid-August. Only after a rigorous selection process—only the very best are considered for San Marzano Edda Bianco—are the grapes fermented. This is done in French oak barrels. After fermentation, this white Italian wine is aged for another four months on its lees. The result is dazzling.

The aroma and taste of the white Edda wine

Terribly delicious. That's what our oenologists wrote. We couldn't agree more. Phenomenal. Irresistible. Nothing but superlatives from our vinologists for this 11 Filari Primitivo di Manduria Dolce Naturel from the Italian winery San Marzano. Harvest takes place incredibly late, in the first half of October. This allows the grapes to overripe, developing the sweet character of 11 Filari from San Marzano. After the harvest, and the rigorous selection process, the grapes are fermented. This Italian wine then matures for an impressive 12 months in French and American oak barrels in the San Marzano cellars. They have been internationally renowned for years for their terroir-specific Châteauneuf-du-Pape. They carry the Rhône and Hermitage wines under Brunel de la Gardine. This red wine is a blend of 65 percent Grenache and 35 percent Syrah and Mourvedre grapes. All are sourced from vineyards in the southern part of the Rhône Valley, where the Grenache grape constitutes the majority of the grapes grown.

After manual harvesting, the grapes are rigorously selected to remove any bad bunches.
