This beautiful Italian winery takes its name from the La Fenice Theatre in Venice. Anyone who's ever been there will recognize the velvet curtain that hangs between the audience and the stage. Decorated with embroidery, it possesses infinite beauty. With this in mind, Velarino winery crafts its wines, and the stage curtain can be tasted and smelled in every wine. This white Vermentino, grown in Puglia, also deserves a stage and applause. In recent years, Velarino winery has invested heavily, building a new winery and replanting some vineyards. All of this has proven to be a resounding success, as this white wine is wonderfully fresh with beautiful mineral notes.

In southern Italy, near Puglia, lie the old vineyards filled with Vermentino grapes. The grape thrives in the ancient soil structures, receiving abundant nutrients from the limestone and gravel-rich subsoil. The grapes' environment is truly fantastic, with abundant sunshine and intense coolness noticeable in the vineyards. This coolness comes from the ocean breeze, providing the bunches with plenty of refreshment during the growing season. This gives this Vermentino a rich yet especially refreshing character. All bunches are harvested by hand in the early morning, enhancing the purity of this wine.

The smell and taste of the Velarino Puglia Vermentino

As soon as we uncork the bottle, we smell a vibrant bouquet of green apple, lime, and a touch of green herbs. In the glass, it turns straw yellow and captivates our senses. We bring the glass to our nose, and it's immediately captivated by notes of white peaches, apricots, green and red apple, along with a touch of lime freshness. On the palate, this white Velarino Vermentino offers a rich, textured finish. The wine clings beautifully to the palate, offering fruity notes of apple, melon, and a touch of apricot. Swirl this wine around the mouth, and it also reveals subtle hints of green herbs and grapefruit. What a perfect, rich glass of wine.
