Maison Ackerman: Pioneer of the Loire bubble since 1811
Crémant de Loire is the best-kept secret of the French wine world, and Maison Ackerman is its founder. Established in 1811 by Belgian entrepreneur Jean-Baptiste Ackerman, it is the oldest sparkling wine house in the Val de Loire. In 1838, Ackerman was the first producer ever to win a gold medal for applying the traditional method in this region, the same technique also used in Champagne.
