If you're a fan of Verdejo wines, look no further. Valdelagunde wines have been one of our greatest successes for years. Perfect wines, as we like to say. Valdelagunde wines stand out for their easy drinking and refreshing character. The addition of that little touch of "je ne sais quoi" makes Valdelagunde wines true legends.

The Valdelagunde wines from Spain

One of the most famous wines produced by Pedro Escudero Winery is undoubtedly Valdelagunde. This crowd-pleaser has been easily finding its way to consumers for years. It's an accessible, relaxed wine, hailing from a wine region that many Dutch people are proud of: Rueda. This region, located northwest of the Spanish capital Madrid, has become a major player in Spanish winemaking in just four decades. This is largely thanks to a single grape variety: Verdejo.

The Verdejo wines of Valdelagunde

Pedro Escudero Winery, creator of the famous Valdelagunde wines, has a short history. About twenty years ago, the Escudero family decided to start their own business and acquire vineyards in the Rueda region. They particularly impressed everyone with their regional pride, the Verdejo grape. Today, you'll find no fewer than 32 hectares of vineyards in the La Seca region, arguably the most beautiful part of the Rueda region among wine connoisseurs. Besides Verdejo and some Vuira, you'll also find another powerhouse here: Sauvignon Blanc. For years, the winery has been making the incredibly delicious Valdelagunde Sauvignon Blanc from this grape.

However, Valdelagunde's greatest success came from the production of its Verdejo wines. Half a century ago, this grape was virtually unknown. However, with the discovery of Rueda wines and their popularity, Verdejo was able to capitalize on this surge. The Verdejo vines were carefully planted by the Escudero family. Each vine was specially selected and planted in its perfect spot—where the sun, wind, and terroir meet to create a true paradise for the grapes. This meticulous care is evident in a sip of Valdelagunde wine.
