We're heading to the eastern flank of the continent's most imposing mountain range: the Andes. We're arriving in Argentina, a wine country par excellence for many years. Trapiche Winery is no ordinary winery. As early as 140 years ago, some winegrowers recognized the potential of the Mendoza wine region. One of these winegrowers, Don Tiburcio Benegas, saw potential in the vineyards at the foot of the Andes. He established a small vineyard called El Trapiche. Through tireless work, he expanded the vineyards, thanks to the successive generations. Today, Trapiche is much larger than we could ever have imagined. In total, the vineyards encompass a good 1,000 hectares, and the winery has long-term contracts with more than 300 winegrowers in the region.

Trapiche's wine selection is endless. It literally has a good wine for everyone. Besides the authentic Malbec, which has become a national treasure of Argentina, you'll also find numerous other grapes, such as Chardonnay, Torrontes, Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, and even some Viognier. The vineyards are situated at an altitude of between 600 and 1000 meters, where nights can be relatively cool. This difference in temperature between day and night allows the grapes to develop their excellent aromatic qualities.
