Dumanet Winery has been a welcome addition to our collection for years. They master all aspects of winemaking, something they can be quite proud of. After all those years of craftsmanship, it was time for a new challenge: developing a superb Syrah wine that would make other wineries envious. Well, with this Dumanet Grande Reserve Shiraz, they've more than succeeded. Made with a grape from the Cote du Rhone, and with craftsmanship comparable to that of Bordeaux, this red wine will always put you in the front row.
The vineyards of Dumanet
Dumanet has been a leading winemaker in Languedoc-Roussillon for decades. Wine has been produced here for a very long time, but until the 1980s, it was primarily a matter of dull, mass-produced wines. From then on, the tide turned. Many wineries, including Dumanet, joined forces and began investing in the Languedoc-Roussillon wine region. It's been a long journey, but today, the region is back on the map. Countless wine lovers swear by the unparalleled quality of the wines produced in this part of France.
Impressions of Dumanet Grande Reserve Syrah
The vineyards are located relatively close to the Mediterranean coast. This creates a unique microclimate. While the daytime can get quite warm due to the countless hours of sunshine, the nights can cool considerably. This temperature difference has a very beneficial effect on the growing process of the Syrah grapes. The quality is phenomenal. A sniff of the glass immediately reveals this. Black fruit easily alternates with generous spices and a delicate peppery note. Thanks to the long oak aging process for this Syrah, the aroma and flavor of cedarwood are clearly present. A knowledgeable wine drinker will easily discern hints of licorice and roses in the generous glass of Dumanet Grande Reserve Syrah.
