A fusion of art and wine—that's how we can best describe Enate wine. It all began in 1992 when the family purchased an estate in northern Spain, in the Somontano wine region at the foot of the mountains. The idea was to produce the finest wines in a modern way while preserving Spanish traditions. And they've more than succeeded, because this is an exquisite winery with the perfect price-quality ratio. But their passion extends beyond Spanish wine to modern art. So, next to their modern cellars, the family built a museum where they display their magnificent collection of paintings. The winery also gave each wine a unique label depicting one of the paintings. The artwork on the label gives a glimpse into the wine, and we can't wait to open the bottle.

The harvest of the Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot grapes

The vineyard is now well-established and is yielding a powerful and full harvest for Enate's winemaker. This is largely due to the perfect climate in which the vines grow. Because the vineyard is situated at a slightly higher elevation, the grapes are kept cool, guaranteeing a long growing season. The grapes absorb plenty of nutrients from the rich soil structure and are harvested entirely by hand. Each bunch is inspected to ensure only the purest juice is obtained.

What does the Enate Cabernet Sauvignon Merlot taste like?

This combination of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot proves to be a masterstroke for Enate, and it's presented in a 0.5L bottle. The wine is lightly aged for three months in French and American oak. The oak aging gives this Enate Cabernet Sauvignon Merlot a much fuller body while remaining remarkably smooth. The aroma immediately reveals the Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot grapes, nuances of blackcurrant and blackberry complemented by violets and a hint of vanilla. The taste is soft and refined with hints of blackberry, cherry, and plum.
