What a wonderful Spanish winery this is, founded in 1996. The family searched for the best vineyard and found it in the warm wine region of Castilla La Mancha. The beautiful old vineyard, filled with both Tempranillo and Shiraz grapes, proved to be the starting point for success. During the first years of Finca Milena, they worked hard in the vineyards. They also built a state-of-the-art winery incorporating all the latest technologies. Of course, it all starts in the vineyards of Finca Milena. The climate is unique and very rare; the balance between sun, cool wind, and nighttime temperatures is perfect. The Tempranillo and Shiraz grapes ripen very evenly and are harvested early in the morning to prevent oxidation and damage to the bunches.

Wood aging for the Finca Milena Tempranillo Shiraz

When the grapes arrive at Finca Milena, they are carefully inspected visually. Only the finest bunches are used for this red wine from Castilla La Mancha. Both grape varieties are initially vinified separately, after which the winemaker creates the blend for the red Finca Milena. Some of the red wine is then aged in oak barrels to give it more depth. The oak aging enhances the body and enhances the beautiful characteristics of the oak barrel.

On the nose, this red wine boasts a beautiful bouquet of red and black fruit complemented by subtle spicy notes. A good swirl of the glass will also reveal hints of oak, vanilla, and black pepper. The palate transports you to sun-drenched Spain, with plenty of ripe red and black fruit, dominated by berries and blackberries. On the back of the palate, we detect a lovely spiciness and soft nuances of chocolate and tobacco. A beautifully smooth finish completes the experience.
