A Sicilian wine from Italy
This ideal blend of two refreshing grape varieties is a Sicilian wonder, crafted by the Purato winery. Sicily has been a winemaking hub for centuries, dating back to ancient times. However, it's the quality that has truly excelled in recent years. A wave of success that Purato wines are also riding. And now you can easily bring this quality home.
The Italian wines of Purato
Purato Winery is located in the southernmost tip of Sicily, near the town of Vittoria. It occupies a former farmhouse dating back to 1697, meaning wine has been produced here for over 300 years. In 2002, the winery came into the hands of Stefano and Marina Girelli. Their goal: to produce fine wines while preserving the authentic character of southern Sicily. The stunning natural landscape surrounding the vineyards is just as beautiful as Purato's wines.
Order Purato Catarratto Pinot Grigio wine
This white wine from Purato is an excellent blend of Catarratto and Pinot Grigio, two quintessentially Italian grape varieties. For optimal quality, the Pinot Grigio is harvested earlier than the Catarratto, and all grapes are hand-picked to ensure the highest quality. The wine is fermented in stainless steel and then blended. To give Purato Catarratto Pinot Grigio that special something, the juice is aged on its own lees for another 3 to 4 months.
