Trimbach's dessert wine. Made from one of Alsace's finest grape varieties: Gewürztraminer. To produce a dessert wine of this quality, only the very best grapes are used. The Trimbach vineyards, where this Gewürztraminer thrives, are among the finest in the Ribeauville area.

The unique Alsace climate for Trimbach wines

For three centuries and 14 generations, the Trimbach family has produced wines that are structured, long-lived, fruity, elegant, and balanced: the renowned Trimbach style. The family personally oversees every step of the process, from planting to harvest and from vinification to bottling. The Trimbach family's viticultural origins date back to 1626, when Jean Trimbach was recognized as a citizen of Riquewihr. From that moment on, the Trimbachs were known for their viticulture. Maison Trimbach's vineyards are all located around Ribeauville (Ribeauville, Hunawihr, Bergheim, Rorschwihr, Riquewihr, and Mittlewihr). They benefit from the unique Alsatian microclimate, thanks to the shelter of the Vosges Mountains, which protect the plain from rain. Harvesting this grape is a unique process. It only happens when all the other harvests are complete. At that point, the grapes are overripe and ideally suited for making dessert wine. This grape is also affected by noble rot. Harvesting is done manually, one grape at a time. The grapes are extremely delicate, and you certainly don't want to waste this beautiful juice. The wine is fermented in stainless steel, without malolactic fermentation, to preserve the fruit's natural acidity. Finally, the wine is aged for three months before bottling.

A Gewurztraminer in perfect balance

The taste is harmonious: freshness alternates with the fruitiness of stone fruits like nectarines and peaches. A wonderful glass of wine that pairs beautifully with creamy cheeses. A tip: enjoy this Trimbach wine to the fullest when you open it, as it is very rare. Only in the very best years is this wine produced.
