The year 2020 was an excellent year for white wines from Northern Italy, characterized by high quality and balance. The wines are generally approachable and show a beautiful ripeness.
What a beautiful 1.5-liter bottle called Magnum! This Biscardo Millesimato Prosecco is a superb sparkling wine with very fine bubbles. With over 150 years of experience, we can safely say that Biscardo can make a magnificent Prosecco. A well-known drink in Veneto is Prosecco. It originates in the northeastern part, around the villages of Conegliano and Valdobbiadene, and is made from the Prosecco grape. While there are sweet varieties, most Proseccos are dry and either more (spumante) or less (frizzante) sparkling.

The concept in Italy

The Biscardo family is a household name in Italy, having been crafting exquisite wines since 1878. Before they began making wine, they were active in the textile industry. During that time, they earned a fortune, all of which they invested in their passion: Italian wine. Today, brothers Maurizio and Martino head up this remarkable family winery. Maurizio is a well-known winemaker frequently hired by other Italian wineries. He has a wealth of experience, some of which was passed down from his father. The Biscardo winery boasts a long history, which we all taste in their fantastic red wines. Recently, the youngest member of the family has also joined the winemaking process, as Maddalena is considered the new top winemaker.

A prosecco with intense aromatic aromas

The old vines grow ripe, full-bodied Glera grapes, which are harvested by hand. The grapes are pressed immediately after harvest, after which fermentation takes place in small stainless steel tanks. The wine is then placed under nitrogen in small stainless steel tanks, where pressure is built up and the mousse develops. This Prosecco has a straw-yellow color with fine bubbles. The nose is intense and aromatic with hints of apple and peach blossom. On the palate, it is smooth and velvety with a harmonious and aromatic finish.
