Vintage Report
The 2023 vintage saw an excellent harvest, with the grapes benefiting from many hours of sunshine and coolness from dropping night temperatures. This resulted in a top-quality harvest with optimal preservation of freshness in the grapes.
In the Piedmont wine region, we find the beautiful Cascina Fonda winery, founded in 1963 by Secondino Barbero. After a long and successful career as a winemaker, he wanted to focus on various sparkling wines. He found his fortune in Piedmont and established the Cascina Fonda winery there. He secured several plots ideally suited for viticulture. He planted his varietals there and began producing, among other wines, the successful Piemonte Brachetto, a red sparkling wine. In 1988, his sons took over the winery. Secondino was as proud as a peacock, and today, brothers Massimo and Marco still make the wines according to the old traditions.
The harvest for the Bel Roseto Brachetto
The vineyards filled with Brachetto grapes look magnificent. The old, thick trunks are giving the brothers a bumper harvest today, and you can taste the difference. The grapes are enjoying the many hours of sunshine while retaining their freshness. Thanks to the fresh breeze and sharply dropping nighttime temperatures, the Brachetto grapes are also getting plenty of coolness. The grapes are harvested with the utmost care and transported to the winery. Incidentally, the cellar and winery were completely renovated in 2000. All modern winemaking techniques are present, and we practice this in the purest style. How does the Cascina Fonda Piemonte Brachetto taste?
A unique wine, this is a red sparkling wine with a slightly sweet character. Upon pouring, we see a beautiful light red color with fine, soft bubbles. This Cascina Fonda Piemonte Brachetto flows from the glass, offering hints of light red fruit, such as strawberry and raspberry. On the palate, the light bubbles create a very pleasant sensation, and we detect a slightly sweet, savoury note. Beautiful flavors of strawberry, raspberry, and blueberry, with a subtle hint of grapefruit.Product details
