The 2014 vintage in the Champagne region is excellent and received a score of 94 points from Robert Parker. The wines from this year are early maturing and now very accessible to drink.

A unique piece of craftsmanship, this Bollinger La Grande Année 2014

The Champagne is made up of 61 percent Pinot Noir from fourteen Crus and 39 percent Chardonnay grapes, 91 percent Grand Cru and a small amount of Premier Cru. Only the finest grapes are used to nurture this Champagne, and all grapes are harvested by hand. After harvest, this La Grande Année 2014 is aged in oak barrels in the Bollinger cellars. This is followed by thirty months of bottle aging, as with all Champagnes. Perfection requires patience. This results in a unique piece of craftsmanship with abundant fullness and power. The delicate color and golden hues are a testament to the maturity of the Champagne and Bollinger's winemaking methods. La Grande Année embodies the carefully preserved traditional expertise of the Bollinger Champagne House. The wine is therefore vinified exclusively in small, old oak barrels. Champagne Bollinger has never abandoned this traditional artisanal method, which helps develop its exceptional finesse. After prolonged aging on its lees, each bottle of La Grande Année is even hand-ripened and separated.

The scents and flavors of Bollinger La Grande Année 2014

The nose first reveals notes of fresh almonds. This is followed by yellow, fruity aromas reminiscent of pear and mango. Furthermore, there are toasted notes accompanied by dried citrus and pink grapefruit. What a magnificent Champagne from Bollinger! A wonderfully aromatic fullness with honey aromas and a soft, chalky texture, candied lemon notes, and a delightful bitterness. It finishes with an authentically fresh and long finish. Thanks to its long aging, this exceptional Champagne has a very refined mousse.
