Vintage Report
2023 was a solid vintage for Alto Adige, characterized by favorable conditions that resulted in balanced wines. Although there were some challenges, the region showed resilience and produced wines with good concentration and freshness.
This special Turmhof Chardonnay is made from a vineyard in Kurtatsch, situated at an altitude of 240 to 350 meters. The harvest is entirely hand-picked, ensuring only the finest juice makes it into the bottle. Before bottling, however, this Tiefenbrunner Chardonnay Turmhof is aged in oak barrels. Here, this beautiful wine develops into a full-bodied, creamy Chardonnay.
The beloved Tiefenbrunner winery
Tiefenbrunner, a winery with a very friendly atmosphere. The well-known South Tyrolean atmosphere, that is. This beautiful winery also remains a wonderful place for tourists to relax and enjoy an exceptional wine. Tiefenbrunner offers a wide selection, so there's a suitable wine for every wine drinker. Christophe Tiefenbrunner took over the winery in 1991 and has since modernized it extensively, starting with the winery and then working on the vineyards. Grape arbors are typical of this region. The downside is that not all the grapes receive the right amount of sun. Therefore, Christophe decided to largely remove these and replace them with more regular vines. He also scaled back production slightly to elevate the quality of the wines. Tiefenbrunner owns twenty hectares of vineyards and also purchases grapes from other producers. Primarily white wines are produced from these, with only a few reds. Many wine lovers have fallen in love with the subtle wines of Tiefenbrunner. The grapes for Castel Turmhof Chardonnay are harvested from vineyards with slightly lower yields than those used for regular Chardonnay. This results in wines with greater concentration and depth. A small portion, around ten percent, is fermented in new oak barrels. This gives the wine a touch of oak and beautiful complexity. The aromas and flavors of Tiefenbrunner Turmhof Chardonnay
The aroma offers a beautiful palette of peach, apricot, pineapple, and yellow plum notes. But also hints of vanilla and wood. That hint of wood and, of course, vanilla is reflected in the taste, which is delicious. The beautiful, thick structure is pleasant, and the flavor is powerful and rounded. The taste also reveals plenty of fruity notes of banana, peach, and yellow plum. In short, a top wine from South Tyrol.Product details
