The grapes come from their own plots within Finca El Renegado, located near Caudete de las Fuentes in the DO Utiel-Requena, Valencia. The region is prized for its chalky soils and Mediterranean climate with warm days and cool nights, which ensures optimal ripening and balance in the grapes.
The wine undergoes a long maceration process prior to fermentation. The blend then matures for at least 14 months in French oak barrels, without stabilization, which contributes to a rich texture and complex flavors. A few months of bottle aging refines the balance and integration.
Tempranillo – Pago Bobal
The Tempranillo comes from Pago Bobal, the highest plot within Finca El Renegado. The chalky soil and the large temperature variations between day and night create fresh acidity, ripe red fruit, and elegance in the wine.
Cabernet Sauvignon – Pago Finca
The Cabernet Sauvignon is grown on Pago Finca, a warm and sunny plot with gravelly soil. These conditions give the wine structure, depth, and firm, ripe tannins, essential for the backbone of the blend.
Merlot – Pago Viña Lidón
The Merlot comes from Pago Viña Lidón, where sandy and loamy soils create a soft, rounded style. This plot produces grapes with ripe black fruit and a supple texture, enhancing the finesse and balance of the blend.
Nodus Summun Ecologico is the premium organic wine from Bodegas Nodus, carefully crafted from the finest grapes from Finca El Renegado.
