The 2022 harvest in Maipo Valley was phenomenal thanks to an ideal climate with abundant sunshine and cooling winds from the Andes. This led to an even ripening of the grapes with great intensity.

A red alcohol-free wine aged in oak—we initially thought, "Is that even possible?" But of course, because Chile is home to Sinzero Winery, which specializes in alcohol-free wines. The winery has long been active as a premium alcohol-free wine producer. Sinzero Winery has vineyards in the heart of Chilean winemaking, the Maipo Valley. Here, the Cabernet Sauvignon grapes grow in a fantastic climate, with abundant sunshine and cool winds from the Andes Mountains. This allows the Cabernet Sauvignon grapes to ripen evenly and develop into large, mature grapes. Thanks to the old soil structure, which gives the clusters considerable strength, the harvest is truly phenomenal.

Wood aging for the Sinzero Cabernet Sauvignon Reserva

Once the harvest is ripe, all the bunches are harvested by hand. Only the finest are collected in small crates and transported to Sinzero. Here, the bunches undergo a royal treatment. First, they are gently pressed, after which the entire wine is aged in oak barrels. This period lasts several months so the wine can absorb all the wonderful qualities of the wooden barrels. After this period, the special "spinning one column" technique begins, which extracts the alcohol. All this without losing the wine's flavor and aroma. And yes, then we can safely say that this is one of the finest alcohol-free wines.

What does Sinzero Cabernet Sauvignon taste like?

It's a true celebration that begins the moment you pour this red wine. This Sinzero Cabernet Sauvignon develops a beautiful deep red color with a purple rim. The aroma clearly reflects the oak aging, with notes of vanilla, deep black fruit, light spice, and a touch of oak. The palate is enchanting, with notes of blackberry and cherry complemented by herbs and pepper. As the wine settles, we also taste cedarwood, gingerbread, and a touch of dark chocolate. What a fantastic glass of red, alcohol-free wine.

Maximum 0.5% Alcohol

An alcohol-free wine may contain a maximum of 0.5% alcohol. This is also the legal designation for a wine from which the alcohol has been extracted. This alcohol-free wine was once wine containing alcohol from which the alcohol has been extracted. This technique is also called reverse osmosis or vacuum technology. This allows a minimal trace of alcohol to remain in the bottle. Therefore, a maximum label of 0.5% is mandatory. Many foods you wouldn't suspect contain alcohol. For example, apple juice can contain 0.5% alcohol, and overripe bananas can also contain alcohol.
