Immerse yourself in the refreshing world of Pellegrino Kelbi Catarratto! Nestled in the picturesque Sicilian countryside near Mazara del Vallo, you'll find the 19-hectare Kelbi vineyard. Here, where the wind gently blows and the soil is rich in water reserves, the Catarratto grapes that give life to this enchanting white wine grow.

The Origin of the Kelbi Catarratto

Pellegrino's journey began in 1880, when the visionary Paolo Pellegrino pursued his dream of winemaking. Fast forward to today, and after seven generations, Cantine Pellegrino still stands as a towering symbol of Sicilian winemaking tradition. This rich family history, steeped in love, dedication, and a deep respect for the craft, has resulted in unparalleled expertise in cultivating indigenous Sicilian grape varieties. The Kelbi vineyard, with its limestone and sandy soil, is typical of the Mediterranean. Situated at an altitude of 150 meters, it benefits from the cool breeze and the temperature fluctuations between day and night, ideal for the Catarratto grapes.

The Magic Behind Pellegrino Kelbi Catarratto

When autumn arrives in Sicily, around mid- to late September, the Catarratto grapes are carefully harvested. After a gentle pressing, the wine is vinified at low temperatures and then aged for four months in stainless steel tanks. The result? A radiant straw-yellow wine that delights the nose with floral notes of violet, orange blossom, and elderberry, complemented by a hint of lemon. Each sip is a harmony of flavors, from grapefruit to lemon and lime, finishing with a subtle hint of almond. Whether you enjoy shellfish, raw fish, or grilled delicacies, the Pellegrino Kelbi Catarratto is the perfect companion for your culinary adventures. Cheers to the flavors of Sicily!
