Pasqua Villa Borghetti Valpolicella Ripasso Superiore is a delicious red wine from the Valpolicella region in northern Italy. This wine is made using the Ripasso method, meaning it undergoes a second fermentation on the dried grape skins of Amarone wine.

The passion of the Pasqua family

In the heart of Italy's Veneto region, nestled in the beautiful Veneto region, lies the renowned Pasqua winery. For over 90 years, the name Pasqua has been synonymous with quality wines, dedication to craftsmanship, and a deep connection to the land and vineyards they own. Pasqua's story began in 1925, when the Pasqua family decided to transform their passion for the Valpolicella grape into a winery. From the very beginning, they have dedicated themselves to producing wines that express the unique characteristics of the region's terroir and grape varieties. The grapes for this wine are carefully selected from Pasqua's vineyards, focusing on indigenous Corvina, Rondinella, and Corvinone grape varieties. After being harvested by hand, the grapes are dried on traditional wooden racks, concentrating and ripening them. This process, known as appassimento, gives the wine its characteristic flavor and complexity. After fermentation, the young Valpolicella wine is transferred to the dried grape skins of the Amarone grape family, where it undergoes a second fermentation. This allows for further extraction of color, aromas, and tannins, giving the wine greater depth and structure.

The full and velvety taste of Pasqua Villa Borghetti Valpolicella Ripasso Superiore

The result is an intense ruby-red wine with a complex aroma of ripe red fruit, such as cherries and plums, combined with hints of spice and licorice. On the palate, the Pasqua Villa Borghetti Valpolicella Ripasso Superiore is full-bodied and velvety, with soft tannins and excellent balance. The finish is long and generous, with a pleasant hint of sweet spice. The Pasqua Villa Borghetti Valpolicella Ripasso Superiore is an excellent choice with rich meat dishes, such as grilled red meat, game, and stews. It also pairs well with mature cheeses. This wine offers a wonderful and accessible introduction to the Ripasso style and demonstrates why Valpolicella wines are loved worldwide.
