}
Wines from the better hills of Valpolicella may be sold as Valpolicella Classico. The "Superiore" designation is permitted for wines with an alcohol content of at least 12 percent and with at least one year of additional aging. This is the quintessential Valpolicella Superiore wine, made according to the best traditions and with all the characteristics of Tedeschi Family wines: good structure, delicate flavor, and elegance. The grapes come from vineyards in the Mezzane and Tregnago hills.

Tedeschi wines of high quality

Just a few kilometers east of Lake Garda, in the historic Valpolicella region, the Tedeschi family is now in its fifth generation dedicated to winemaking. From 35 hectares of vineyards in the best locations within the growing zone, the Tedeschis produce high-quality wines with the unmistakable signature of traditional Veneto grape varieties. Tedeschi wines are exquisite, traditional representatives of this charming landscape, which, along with Amarone, produces some of Italy's finest wines. The harvest for this Vapolicella Superiore begins in late September/early October. After rigorous selection, the grapes are destemmed and pressed. This is followed by alcoholic fermentation and maceration for ten days at a controlled temperature of 23 to 25 degrees Celsius. After malolactic fermentation, the wine is clarified in stainless steel and transferred to oak barrels where it ages for another twelve months. Finally, the wine is bottled and aged in the bottle for another six months.

A typical Italian red wine

A good Valpolicella like Tedeschi is one of Italy's most quintessential red wines. It's an ideal accompaniment to dishes with juicy fruit, full flavor, and soft contours. The wine is ruby red in color and has a pleasant aroma of cherry fruit, with a hint of spice. This Valpolicella is light and fresh on the palate, elegant and open, with a hint of bitterness and a slight firmness. Balanced and delicious to drink. 92/100 in the gastronomic magazine FALSTAFF!
