This red wine is made from Merlot and Grenache grapes, which complement each other perfectly. The Merlot provides softness and richness, while the Grenache offers strength and finesse. Both are grown in the sunny south of France and are harvested by machine at the right ripeness. This is done in the middle of the night to prevent damage to the bunches. Upon arrival at the winery, the grapes are placed on sorting tables to select only the finest bunches for this red wine. After pressing, twenty percent of the juice is aged in oak, making it somewhat fuller-bodied than its competitors. It's no wonder this wine is often served in upscale restaurants.
The red wine from Les 5 Vallees is also made by Paul Mas, a superb winemaker who combines Merlot and Grenache to create a superbly smooth wine. A perfect glass with beautiful, full flavors and soft textures. The aroma reveals hints of cherries, berries, and light spices. The Merlot and Grenache grapes give the wine great depth and a wonderfully smooth palate. Beautiful warm flavors of red and black fruit complemented by a touch of spice and vanilla. What a gem! The soft and warm finish completes this red wine perfectly.
