Vintage Report

The 2019 vintage in the Southern Rhône was exceptionally good, scoring 96 points. The wines are still youthful and have excellent aging potential.

Another heavenly find from the Rhône Valley: the red wine Château du Trignon Cotes-du-Rhône Villages Plan de Dieu from the Quiot Family. This blend is 70 percent Grenache and 30 percent Syrah from vines over 30 years old. Only the very best grapes are used, and we mean the very best. And of course, you can taste that in the Quiot Family's magnificent glass.

The appellations of Quiot Chateau du Trignon

Château du Trignon served as a Provençal cattle farm for many years until it was sold to the Roux family in 1896. Five generations transformed the château into a prestigious wine estate by focusing on growing exceptionally high-quality grapes. Roux expanded the estate to include neighboring appellations: Gigondas, Rasteau, Sablet, and Côtes du Rhône. In 2007, the Quiot family became the owners of the estate. They have been appointed to continue its success and possess unparalleled knowledge of the region. With respect for the land and winemaking expertise, they will continue the tradition. The red grape varieties are grown in the Plan de Dieu vineyards, one of the Côtes du Rhône Villages appellations. The alluvial soil, rich in stones, gives the wine its distinctive character. The grapes are carefully harvested and brought to the winery, where a rigorous selection process takes place. This is the only way to guarantee quality. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature. Finally, the wine is aged in stainless steel tanks for a full nine months.

The strong character of Chateau du Trignon Plan de Dieu

The result is a beautiful ruby-red wine. Its attractive, brilliant color is enhanced by aromas of cherries, licorice, and tapenade. It's hard to resist! The Château du Trignon Plan de Dieu is a full-bodied wine with notes of blueberry, complemented by a lingering finish. Despite its robust character, the wine continues to captivate and tempt you to the next sip.
