From the heart of Tuscany comes this beautiful red Gran Passaia and is considered a Grand Tuscan. This red wine is made from the royal blend of Sangiovese and Merlot grapes. The vineyard is situated in a beautiful spot, a little higher up on the mountain. You can see right out over the vineyards, and the vineyards alone are unique. But there's more to this Gran Passaia Toscana than meets the eye. The grapes are grown with complete respect for nature, and that's reflected in the pure and soft style. The harvest is almost entirely hand-picked to select the finest Sangiovese and Merlot grapes. It's a Grand Tuscan for a reason. Another unique feature is the use of a second fermentation to further soften and enrich the wine's aromas and flavors. This eliminates the need for oak barrel aging.

As soon as the bottle opens, the black and red fruit bursts out at you, particularly blackberries and cherries. We also noted hints of chocolate and a touch of fresh fudge. We'll try to describe what we tasted. Everyone was standing at the tables for this wine. It offers a warm mouthfeel of black fruit, notes of dark chocolate, and stewed plums. Then comes a touch of vanilla and a light spiciness. Above all, it's incredibly smooth, like falling into a warm bed.
