Vintage Report
2023 was een goed jaar voor Puglia, gekenmerkt door gunstige weersomstandigheden. Dit resulteerde in rijpe druiven en wijnen met een goede structuur en fruitexpressie.
In the sunny wine region of Salento, deep in southern Italy, Primitivo di Manduria grapes thrive, the stars of the delicious Lu Rappaio wine. In this fertile region, the grapes find the perfect environment to grow, and you can taste that in every sip of Lu Rappaio Primitivo di Manduria. This wine is fruity, smooth, and full-bodied, with a beautiful complexity that immediately captivates.
The success story of Masca del Tacco
The story begins in 2010, when Felice Mergè and his father, Armando, purchased an old property in Erchie, a charming town in the province of Brindisi. They had a vision: to transform the property into the renowned Masca del Tacco winery. While preserving its authentic charm, they incorporated modern technology and innovative production methods. Their goal was clear: to create top-quality wines without losing the traditional essence. By expanding into the Veglie and Torricella vineyards, they consolidated their position in the wine world. The warm climate, the maritime influence of the Salento peninsula, and the dedicated farmers all contribute to the unique character of Masca del Tacco wines. Each grape bunch is handpicked and carefully selected, demonstrating how seriously Masca del Tacco takes its winemaking. By utilizing local grapes and the region's fertile soil, Masca del Tacco creates wines that are both contemporary and a tribute to the past. After gentle pressing, the Lu Rappaio Primitivo di Manduria undergoes aging on the skins for between twenty and thirty days, all under strict temperature control. The wine is then aged for an additional three to six months in French barrels, deep in Masca del Tacco's cellars. The smell and taste of Masca del Tacco Lu Rappaio Primitivo di Manduria
This wine enchants with its rich aroma. You'll smell the sweetness of jam and red fruit, interwoven with hints of cinnamon. From the first sip, you'll taste a perfect balance between softness and complexity. The palate fills with flavors of juicy black fruit, spices, and vanilla. And it's not just our opinion that this Lu Rappaio Primitivo di Manduria excels—international wine connoisseurs agree, as evidenced by Luca Maroni's 96 points and the gold medal from the Berlin Wine Trophy.Product details
