The 2023 vintage in South Africa has been rated with an excellent score of 90T by Robert Parker. This indicates a year of outstanding quality where the wines are still youthful and need time to fully mature.

The 30-year-old Riesling vines enjoy the best conditions in Stellenbosch. The vineyards benefit from the influences of the Indian and Atlantic Oceans. This allows the Riesling grapes to ripen evenly, resulting in a tropical wine.

The Jordan Winery Wine Adventure

In 1992, Kathy and Gary Jordan took over the wine estate purchased by Gary's parents. They had both already gained considerable winemaking experience abroad, and now it was time for their own wine adventure. Gary has been involved with his parents' wine estate from the very beginning. He was involved in the complete planting of all the grape varieties. He used his knowledge to analyze the terroir and ensured that each grape variety was planted in its ideal location. He continues to benefit from this to this day. The vineyards have now matured and achieved incredible complexity. It is a true family business where quality is paramount. The Riesling grapes are harvested only once they have reached a perfect balance of sugar and acidity. They are carefully picked in the early morning to preserve their freshness. At the winery, they are pressed almost immediately in a pneumatic press. The juice settles in the tank for two days, after which the clear juice is separated from the lees. Cold fermentation follows at 15 degrees Celsius in stainless steel tanks. The wine is allowed to rest for a while before being bottled.

A tropical wine from Stellenbosch

With a golden yellow color, this The Real McCoy Riesling sparkles in the glass. The nose is expressive, with tropical aromas of pineapple and peach. Light hints of vanilla and butter also emerge, adding a touch of richness. The palate is wonderfully balanced with fine acidity. The wine's fruity character is fully developed and continues into the finish.
