When the Croix family founded this beautiful winery decades ago, they had no idea it would become so big. With the right spirit and utmost precision, they set out to create unique wines in the Pays d'Oc wine region. The winery is nestled amidst the vineyards near the village of Pennauttier, where the soil is unique, rich in chalk and marl. This is precisely what the Sauvignon Blanc grape aspires to, allowing it to grow vigorously. The Mediterranean climate also contributes to the magnificent harvest. Thanks to ample sunshine, the grapes accumulate abundant sugars, and the cool mountain breeze provides ample refreshment. This cooling is crucial for producing a beautifully fresh Sauvignon Blanc. The harvest of the Sauvignon Blanc

The most important aspect of a perfect Sauvignon Blanc is the harvest time. Harvesting begins early in the season, starting in the middle of the night while the Sauvignon Blanc grapes are still dormant. This minimizes the risk of bruising and ensures the grapes retain the freshness the Croix gentlemen strive for. Upon arrival at the château, the grapes are sorted on sorting tables. This ensures that only the finest bunches are used in this white wine. This results in an exceptionally smooth and refreshing juice.

What does the Croix d'Or Sauvignon taste like?

The Croix d'Or Sauvignon Blanc has a beautiful, clear color with a green shimmer. It bursts into the glass, offering wonderfully full aromas of passion fruit, green herbs like mint, and a touch of grapefruit. Swirl this white wine well, and it also reveals nuances of asparagus, cucumber, and a touch of freshly mown grass. The palate is dominated by stone fruit, a touch of fig, and a hint of green pepper. Deliciously refreshing! This delightful varietal from the Hérault region offers the fruity freshness of the Sauvignon grape with superb acidity.
