Vintage Report
The 2022 vintage in South Australia has been exceptionally rated with a Robert Parker score of 96. The wines from this vintage are currently still tannic, youthful, and need time to mature.
A red wine with a small percentage of white grapes, namely Viognier. This almost entirely Shiraz is one of Yalumba's most famous wines because it's unique. Because Shiraz can sometimes be very robust and powerful, they added a touch of Viognier. A perfect combination, resulting in an elegant red wine with a deep, dark color.
The Australian family business Yalumba
Yalumba is known as a family business with a modern vision that takes its responsibility for the natural environment seriously. Today, the sixth generation of the family runs the business, but it was founded in 1849 by the British Samuel Smith. He purchased thirty hectares of land in Angaston, South Australia, and planted the first grapes. The land was named Yalumba Aboriginal, which has since become a guarantee for beautiful, top-quality wines. Each Yalumba wine has its own unique style and is influenced by a wide variety of elements. It is a modern and innovative winery, yet also holds true to history and tradition. Yalumba is also the first winery in the world to receive the Climate Protection Award. The environment, reducing CO2 emissions, increasing biodiversity, and organic viticulture are therefore top priorities for the winery. The harvest and taste of Yalumba The Y series Shiraz Viognier
The grapes for this Yalumba Shiraz Viognier are harvested around March. The grapes have fragrant and aromatic characteristics, and every effort is made to preserve these aromas. A cool fermentation takes place, and the Viognier grapes are added without pressing. The final result is a wine that is clear, aromatic, and exotic. The horse on the label symbolizes Yalumba's past, when horses played a major role as transportation and were also used as tractors in the fields. The aroma reveals red fruit and spices. A subtle hint of American oak on the palate offers notes of black fruit, blueberries, white pepper, and a hint of plum. The Yalumba Shiraz Viognier has a fine concentration and a pleasant finish.Product details
