Vintage Report
Sicily's 2021 vintage received a 93-point rating from Robert Parker, indicating excellent and high-quality wines. The wines from this year are currently still a bit youthful, which contributes to a promising and long aging potential.
In 1984, Count Giuseppe Tasca d'Almerita decided to celebrate his 50th anniversary with his wife, Franca, by creating a wine that tells the story of his family and the estate. The unique blend of varietals gives this wine a romantic touch. Made from a blend of Inzolia and Sauvignon Tasca Selection, a varietal selection grown in Regaleali since the First World War, the use of local yeasts further connects this wine to its origins. Fresh, young, and surprisingly long-lasting, it balances the tertiary aromas with the intensity of the fruit.
Sicilian wines from Tasca Regaleali
Sicily isn't exactly known for its wines. This is largely due to the unfavorable climate. But if you combine the right grape varieties with the right location, much more is possible than you initially think. Tasca d'Almerita uses a wide variety of grapes from the island, such as the increasingly popular Nero d'Avola. The island's own grapes are particularly well-suited to the hot and dry climate. They are also experimenting with other grape varieties, such as Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon. Plenty of room for growth and excellent production in the future. The grapes for this showpiece are harvested by hand between late August and late September. The grapes are rigorously inspected and selected before being pressed. Fermentation then takes place in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature of 16 to 18 degrees Celsius for 15 days. Finally, the wine is aged in the same containers for 4 to 5 months before bottling.Enjoy the powerful and rich Nozze d'Oro
What a full-bodied wine! This Nozze d'Oro from the Regaleali winery, the Tasca grapes used here come from the island of Sicily. There, it has been bathed in sunshine and developed a rich, flavorful wine. The aroma of this Nozze d'Oro Regaleali is concentrated, with aromas of honey, nuts, marzipan, and white fruit. The palate is also powerful and very rich, full of character with pear, apple, and distinct acidity and bitterness, which give the wine tension and length.Product details
