The origin, grapes and craftsmanship behind this wine.

It is with a sense of anticipation that we introduce the Ramon Bilbao Edicion Limitada—one of Bodegas Ramón Bilbao's most refined creations. A limited-edition gem, this wine shines with its exclusivity, made from the king of Spanish grapes, Tempranillo. Thanks to a thorough aging of fourteen months in oak barrels, this wine reveals itself as full-bodied, rich, and intense. Since 1999, this prestigious winery has been under the stewardship of Diego Zamora, the world-renowned producer of the beloved Spanish liqueur "Licor 43." Their dedication to creating top-notch wines is unparalleled, where only the highest quality is the benchmark. And this dedication is rewarded when the Tempranillo grapes from Finca Calpierre, nestled in the best Rioja Alta region at an altitude of six hundred meters, reach their peak of perfection in October. Here, under the watchful eye of the winemakers, only the finest bunches are harvested.

Within the cool walls of the Bodegas Ramón Bilbao cellar, a careful orchestra of selection and fermentation begins. The crème de la crème of grape bunches is selected, after which they begin their transformation in oak barrels under controlled conditions. A fourteen-month maturation in a combination of French and American oak barrels, followed by ten months of bottle aging, results in a "modern-style" Rioja. A wine with a deep cherry red hue and seductive aromas that promise to excite and seduce.

The aroma of the Ramon Bilbao Edicion Limitada evokes plums soaked in liqueur, lush blueberries, and a hint of exotic wood—so inviting that it's hard to resist the first sip. And what a taste! Elegant, complex, and full of nuances of black fruit, spicy notes, vanilla, and the unmistakable character of oak. This red wine cries out to be paired with delicious meat dishes, smoked delicacies, and even international delicacies like sushi and spicy curries. The Edicion Limitada is not just a pleasure now; it promises to become even richer and more layered with age.
