Chardonnay is perhaps the most famous white varietal in the world, thanks to its success in the Burgundy region of France and much of California. Chardonnay guarantees a delicious wine with pleasant aromas. This Barramundi is aged briefly in oak, giving it just that little bit of extra richness. In short, a wonderful everyday wine!
Ideal conditions for the Chardonnay
Barramundi comes from the Murray Darling Region in Victoria, where two of Australia's largest rivers meet. This means the vineyards are constantly supplied with water, which is a good thing, as there's hardly any rain during the growing season! Just endless days of sunshine. The soil is also ideal for ripening the grapes. The wines were first released in Australia in 1990 with uniquely illustrated labels by an iconic Aussie artist. Two years later, it was the United Kingdom's turn. The winery continues to grow and produce more and more wines. Their real success comes from these cool, laid-back hippie labels featuring the Barramundi van. Behind the wheel is the cool Aussie dog Barry, his sights set on infinity. The Chardonnay grapes are harvested at night to preserve freshness. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature of 14-16 degrees Celsius. After fermentation, the wine is aged on the lees. This not only softens the wine but also adds complexity to the Chardonnay. Finally, the wine is aged in stainless steel tanks with brief oak contact.A long and elegant Chardonnay from Barramundi
Barramundi Chardonnay has a beautiful light straw yellow color with a vibrant green hue. On the nose, this white wine boasts dominant aromas of nectarine, melon, and citrus blossom. These dominant yet pleasant aromas are supported by toasted oak and undertones of flint. On the palate, this Barramundi offers notes of creamy lemon curd, nectarine, and pineapple. Long and elegant with a refreshing finish. Ideal with roast pork, panna cotta, and desserts featuring vanilla and/or peach.Product details
