Always striving for better at De Bortoli

De Bortoli Winery is one of Australia's largest wineries, still family-owned. They produce a wide range of wines in the Riverina, Yarra Valley, King Valley, and Hunter Valley. The winery was founded in 1928 by an Italian immigrant couple. Their wines range in quality, from simple, generic blends to prestigious terroir wines. Currently, the third generation is at the helm. Winemaker Steve Webber (son-in-law) has received much praise for his distinctive style. The Family Selection is a celebration of their Italian roots, planted in Australian soil. The wines are highly regarded both nationally and internationally, thanks in part to the high quality they always strive for. Always true to the official De Bortoli Wine motto, Semper ad Majora ("always striving for better"), and the unofficial motto (good food, good wine, and good friends) remains as true and central as ever. The grapes for this white wine are harvested in the cool of the night. After harvest, they undergo rigorous selection and gentle pressing. The wine then ferments in select French and American oak barrels. After the necessary rest, the dry white wine is bottled and ready to be enjoyed.

This all-rounder has a greenish-yellow color in the glass. It immediately releases an elegant and slightly aromatic aroma. Plenty of fruit, such as quince, citrus, tropical fruit, and stone fruit. But that's complemented by a subtle spicy note. A touch of oak is noticeable on the finish. Delicious. It's a fine drinking wine that's beautifully balanced.
