Like every McPherson wine, this refreshing Sauvignon Blanc is named after a family member. This time, after Andres McPherson's wife. Nicole earned the nickname "Pickles" at a young age, thanks to her excellent cooking and her work in her own vegetable garden. And it's precisely the herbs from her garden that we detect in the aroma of this Sauvignon Blanc. A combination of fresh and spicy notes.
Modern Australian wines
Founded in 1968, McPherson is known for its fruit-driven, flavorful wines. The first vineyard was planted by owner and experienced winemaker Andrew McPherson, and the family now manages approximately 225 hectares of vineyards. The goal is consistently to produce high-quality wines with meticulous care for the vineyards. Jo Nash is the resident winemaker and is responsible for the elegant, balanced, and modern Australian wines that McPherson offers in its range. The grapes are planted in vineyards in Central Victoria and the Murray Darling region. Grapes are also purchased to ensure perfection. The family business's success led to the construction of a completely new cellar in Victoria in 2000. This was also the time when the now-permanent winemaker Jo Nash joined the team. By blending grapes from higher-elevation vineyards with those from the lower Goulburn Valley, they create fruity and balanced wines that are beloved worldwide.A lively Sauvignon Blanc
The Sauvignon Blanc grapes are harvested in the cool of the night and crushed immediately. A cool fermentation lasts seven days in the winery, resulting in a fresh and lively wine. With its light straw-colored appearance, this Sauvignon Blanc exudes tropical aromas of papaya, passion fruit, and pineapple. Herbaceous notes of bell pepper and tomato also emerge clearly. The palate is fresh and perfectly balanced, combined with crisp acidity. The lingering finish completes the picture of this lively white wine.Product details
