Tabali Winery has been a pioneer in quality wines for years and is the most iconic winery in the Limari Valley. Their goal is to create high-quality wines that reveal their origins. Sauvignon Blanc is one of the grapes that thrives in the vineyards near the coast. They come from the Talinay vineyard, located just twelve kilometers from the Pacific coast. And that's how you end up with a delicious, high-quality Chilean wine!

The beginning of Tabali winery

It all began in the early 1990s when Guillermo Luksic first saw potential in the Limari Valley. Previously, the climate here was thought to be too extreme for planting vineyards. A good wine, therefore, proved far-fetched. But Luksic planted his first vineyards here, and thus, in 2002, Tabali wines were born. Today, it is run by his son, Nicolás Luksic, who, with the same goal as his father, produces the typical Tabali wines.

The harvest and taste of Tabali Pedregoso Gran Reserva Sauvignon Blanc

The climate is very favorable, being quite cool by Chilean standards. Temperatures here never exceed 23 degrees Celsius. This allows the Sauvignon Blanc grapes to be harvested here for two to three weeks longer than in other coastal regions. The chalky soil is also unique to Chile, which promotes high tension. The grapes are harvested in mid-March. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel at a controlled temperature between eleven and thirteen degrees Celsius. This maintains optimal fruit expression. The Tabali Gran Reserva Sauvignon Blanc has a subdued pale yellow color with green hues, pure and brilliant. The nose is intense, complex, and elegant with refined notes of citrus, passion fruit, and green aromas. The palate is full and vibrant. The high acidity adds freshness and brings the wine to life. A very long, fresh, and fruity finish.
