Buy Lebanese Wine

Perhaps the oldest wine country in the world? That's right, Lebanon. Not the first country people think of when they think of wine. However, this region is the cradle of wine production. Remains of viticulture dating back over 8,000 years have been found here! However, due to the many conflicts in the region, viticulture has never flourished as it has in, for example, Italy, France, or Spain. However, the situation in Lebanon has been stable for several years now, and more and more wineries are venturing into export. And we're happy about that, because the Lebanese are incredibly good at making wine. This is no stranger, of course. It's the French who have been influencing the (wine) culture for decades.

Wine from Lebanon

Lebanon's wine production is marked by the conflicts in the region. For example, Château Musar, one of the most famous wineries, was unable to harvest grapes in 1976 and 1984 due to the conflicts in the region. However, despite the unrest, 5 million liters of wine are still produced, as Lebanon's wines remain in high demand. Being an Arab country, they are not particularly fond of alcohol. Therefore, it was primarily the French missionaries who began planting grapes. The result is primarily the planting of well-known French grape varieties such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Cinsault, and Carignan, which create beautiful Lebanese wines.

The most famous winery, Chateau Musar, has its vineyards located in the renowned Bekaa Valley. This valley, at an altitude of 100 meters, is ideally suited to viticulture. Chateau Musar is almost a century old and was the first winery to import wines from Lebanon to the West on a large scale. Musar's vintages are highly acclaimed. A treat for any wine lover. A must-have for any wine cabinet.

Lebanese Wines

We can only say one thing: enjoy the wine from Lebanon. Although unknown, the quality is exceptional. Wineries like Château Musar and Château Marsyas are making waves in the West. The wines are exciting, innovative, and above all, simply delicious. This is not only due to the ideal climate of this Middle Eastern country, but especially to the passion of the winemakers, who produce their wines with verve. Open that bottle and enjoy. But be quick, because supplies are scarce. So enjoy Lebanese wines twice!
