Vintage Report
The 2020 vintage in Spain is considered excellent, with top scores in various regions indicating very high quality. The wines from this year show an exquisite balance between ripeness and structure.
A new project from the Toro Albala winery, Miut, is bringing high-quality wines to the market. The grapes come from vineyards in Montilla Alto and Sierre de Montilla. Tradition and culture play a key role, as this winery, while eager to innovate, always holds true to its rich history. This Miut L'Assemblage is a fresh wine that, thanks to extended aging, also reveals beautiful herbaceous aromas.
The family business Toro Albala
Toro Albala is a true family business with a long history. Today, wines from this house are found in all major restaurants, but a hundred years ago, that would have been questionable. It began in 1922 with a small winemaker, Jose Maria Toro Albala. He founded the winery in the heart of southern Cordoba. The idea was to age wines long-term and then produce more elegant wines. At the time, this was a significant risk due to the economic crisis. But courage and passion brought this bold idea to great success. They now specialize in the Pedro Ximenex grape variety. In this case, the grape is planted on clay and chalky soils, which creates a combination of unique terroirs. The grapes are carefully harvested when they are sufficiently ripe and have reached the right level of freshness. They are then transported almost immediately to the winery where pressing can begin. Fermentation follows, partly in oak and partly in amphorae. This is followed by aging on the lees for 10 months. What does the Bodegas Toro Albala Miut L'Assemblage taste like?
The result is a beautiful pale wine. Wonderfully fresh on the nose with lemon and notes of aromatic herbs. The palate is also pleasantly fresh with the right volume, but not overpowering. A pleasant wine that pairs well with a delicious appetizer platter featuring tapas, olives, seafood, and cheese.Product details
