Vintage Report
In 2023, Extremadura experienced extreme heat, which gave the Pardina grape a refreshing character despite the high temperatures. Spain achieved high national scores up to 92 points in the main wine regions in this vintage.
After many wanderings on the Iberian Peninsula, we finally discovered this refreshing white wine: Dagda. And finding this thirst-quencher wasn't exactly easy. We visited all the renowned areas: from Yecla to Rías Baixas and from Rueda to Penedes. However, we found this Dagda white in a completely different part of Spain, namely in Extremadura. This region, located just north of Seville, is little to unknown in the wine world. Yet, they know how to produce excellent wines at a fair price.
A Spanish white wine
The vineyards are located in Extremadura. This region suffers from extreme temperatures in summer. However, many grapes thrive in this climate. One example is the Pardina grape. This grape has been cultivated for centuries, but pales in comparison to well-known names like Verdejo or Albarino. Its origins lie in Extremadura, but thanks in part to the extreme temperatures, it also produces excellent wines in Portuguese vineyards. This grape is gradually being rediscovered, including at the Dagda winery, which has given Pardina a starring role in its white wine. What does Dagda White taste like?
You taste the Spanish sun, working overtime on the Dagda vineyards in Extremadura. You sense the Spanish temperament. The thirst-quenching character. This Dagda White has a lot to offer for a wine in this price range. The soft, refreshing fruit is pleasant to the nose and palate. It's no wonder that Dagda White is regularly served as a house wine in many restaurants and bars. Its accessible and pleasant character appeals to almost everyone.Product details
