This exceptional Don PX 1955 has garnered international acclaim and has already won numerous awards. Made from 100 percent dried Pedro Ximenez grapes, the grape variety Toro Albala specializes in, it is the result of a centuries-old tradition: storing at least one barrel of wine made in special years. This wine is aged for a long time and bottled at precisely the right moment.

Elegant Toro Albala wines

Bodegas Toro Albala was founded in 1922 and immediately focused on producing high-quality fortified and liqueur wines. The Pedro Ximenez grape was central from day one. And year after year, founder Jose Maria Toro Albala realized his dream. His wines are beloved worldwide, and some are among the most admired in the world. He always strived for the highest possible quality. It began with long-term aging of his wines, with the goal of producing more elegant wines than those of his competitors. It was a significant risk due to the economic crisis, but Toro Albala stood firm. This ultimately resulted in great success. To ensure the grapes develop their sweetness, the Pedro Ximenez grapes are sun-dried into raisins. This allows the grapes to acquire their rich sugar content. The grapes are then pressed in the winery and aged for a long time.

Then it's time to enjoy this Sherry wine. The color is dark, almost black, with beautiful reflections in the glass. The aroma is intense, with notes of orange, balsamic vinegar, raisins, plums, and dried apricots. A delightfully sweet taste, complemented by a light acidity, ultimately leading to a pleasant bitterness and a refreshing finish. A delicious sweet wine perfect for enjoying on its own. But it also pairs beautifully with game dishes or chocolate desserts.
