This red wine from SEDA, called SEDA Monastrell Vina Vieja, is a wine with great power and softness. Founded in 1897, the winery has a long and rich history, always striving to bring out the best in the grapes. The owners of this prestigious winery in Valencia are the Oria de Rueda family. Over the years, they have invested heavily in both a modern and renovated winery and in the care of the vineyards. These vineyards are now mature, allowing the wine to bear the name Vina Vieja. This SEDA Monastrell is made from the winery's very best grapes, which we taste in this exquisite red wine.

The old Monastrell vineyard for this SEDA Monastrell Vina Vieja is located at an altitude of 905 meters above sea level. Here, the grape bunches enjoy abundant sunlight and the right amount of coolness, thanks to the wind that constantly blows through the vineyards. The nighttime cooling ensures a slow and balanced ripening of the grapes. The soil, consisting of limestone and sandy soils, contributes to full and powerful bunches. Harvest takes place in the morning at ideal ripeness, which ensures freshness is preserved. This wine, made from grapes from old vines, is full-bodied and rounded in aroma and flavor.

The Monastrell grape is immediately recognizable upon opening the bottle, with aromas of black fruit and mocha. This SEDA Monastrell Vina Vieja is a deep red with purple hues in the glass and has aromas of blackberry, cherry, blueberry, vanilla, and mocha. The light oak aging imparts notes of vanilla and spice on the palate. The perfect balance of black fruit and spice is sublime. Blackberry and cherry, with a touch of tannin, complete the overall experience. The finish is soft with just the right amount of bite, making this SEDA Monastrell Vina Vieja a top-notch wine at an excellent price.
