Manual harvest for Vina Cerrada Rioja Blanco

Bodegas Ugalde has a long history in Rioja and is known for both tradition and innovation in wine production. Its extensive vineyards in Viana and other parts of Rioja cover over 70 hectares. Here, yield and bunch size are closely monitored to ensure top quality. With a high planting density of 4,000 plants per hectare, the winery strives to cultivate small yet highly flavorful grapes. This ensures that every sip of Viña Cerrada Rioja Blanco reflects the unique flavors of the land and the dedication of its winemakers, who prioritize excellence and innovation. A modern vinification method is used for Vina Cerrada Rioja Blanco. When the Sauvignon Blanc and Viura grapes are fully ripe, they are carefully harvested by hand. A strict selection process follows in the winery. The wine is made from only the dripping of the grapes before pressing. Alcoholic fermentation lasts 25 days and takes place at a controlled temperature of no more than 18 degrees Celsius. Malolactic fermentation is deliberately avoided.
