The origin, grapes and craftsmanship behind this wine.

With Cuvée Exceptionnelle, Salentein shows how inviting a brut can be: refined, supple, and festive. This Argentine sparkling wine opens your dinner with ease and is just as suitable for a spontaneous toast.

The grapes come from the El Oasis Estate in the Alto Valle de Uco, within the Mendoza wine province.

    • Altitude: The vineyards for this cuvée are located at 1,100 m above sea level, at the foot of the Andes.

    • Climate: Sunny days help the grapes ripen, while cool nights help preserve their natural acidity.

    • Soil: The soils of Salentein's vineyards are predominantly alluvial, with sand over a stony subsoil. This composition ensures good water drainage.

Cool fermentation and contact with the yeast define the character of this cuvée.

    • Fermentation: The base wines ferment separately at a low temperature to preserve the fruit aromas. The second fermentation takes place in a sealed tank according to the Charmat method; this is how the bubbles are created.

    • Aging: The wine remains in the tank on the yeast cells for 6 months, also known as sur lie. This provides extra roundness and a subtle yeasty touch.

The blend combines 2 classic grapes for sparkling wine.

    • Chardonnay – Uco Valley: A white grape valued in sparkling blends for its freshness and finesse.

    • Pinot Noir – Uco Valley: A dark-skinned grape that gives such blends structure and breadth.

    More about Bodegas Salentein

Dutch entrepreneur Mijndert Pon started the Bodegas Salentein project in 1997; by 1999, the winery was completed. His ambition took shape in a winery where European craftsmanship and modern technology come together. Respect for nature and involvement in the local community are explicitly part of that vision.
