The Fransola vineyard is one of the highest-altitude vineyards Penedes has to offer. This is because the daytime temperatures are high, but because the vineyard is relatively close to the sea, the nighttime temperatures in the vineyards cool down somewhat. This all benefits the development of the Sauvignon Blanc grapes. Torres has planted 25 hectares of Sauvignon Blanc on this vineyard specifically for Fransola. It is considered one of the finest vineyards Torres owns. After hand-harvesting and vinification, the aging process for Torres Fransola Sauvignon Blanc begins. The white wine is aged for four to five months in American oak. This prevents the wine from becoming too heavy, but gives it just that touch of character that makes Torres Fransola Sauvignon Blanc so special.
A favorite of many a wine guru. Torres Fransola has received over 40 awards, medals, and accolades from wine gurus worldwide in recent years. Perhaps the most impressive is the 90 points awarded by Robert Parker to Torres Fransola Sauvignon Blanc. The real celebration begins the moment you smell this exquisite glass of white wine. Refined notes of passion fruit, melon, and nectarine form the foundation of the aroma. Swirl the wine again, and you'll immediately discover new aromas. Mint, freshly cut grass, even a hint of lemon cake. Every sip of Torres Fransola Sauvignon Blanc feels like arriving in paradise. Passion fruit, gooseberries, lime peel, and grapefruit. The finish is long, revealing earthy notes like asparagus. Elegant and refined, perhaps the perfect wine.
