Gewürztraminer isn't an easy grape to grow, but this Tiefenbrunner Gewürztraminer can be considered excellent. It's perfectly balanced. The grapes grow at altitudes between 260 and 450 meters, and the grapes come from the Kurtatsch and Entiklar vineyards, which are ideally suited to growing Gewürztraminer. While these vineyards aren't particularly large, they are among the finest, which is why this wine isn't always available.

The beloved Tiefenbrunner winery

Tiefenbrunner Winery has dedicated itself to quality in all its wines, producing wines typical of the grape and the vineyard. Christophe Tiefenbrunner began in 1991 and has significantly modernized the vineyards and perfected the winemaking process. It is a winery with a friendly atmosphere, the well-known South Tyrolean atmosphere, in other words. This beautiful winery also remains a wonderful place for tourists to relax and enjoy an exceptional wine. Tiefenbrunner offers a wide selection, so there's a suitable wine for every wine drinker. Grape arbors are typical of this region. The downside is that not all the grapes receive the right amount of sun. Therefore, Christophe decided to largely remove these and replace them with more regular vines. He also scaled back production slightly to elevate the quality of the wines. Tiefenbrunner owns twenty hectares of vineyards and also purchases grapes from other producers. These are primarily used to produce white wines, with only a few reds. Many wine lovers have fallen in love with Tiefenbrunner's subtle wines.

The origin and taste of Tiefenbrunner Merus Gewurztraminer

The Alto Adige wine region remains a bit of an outlier in Italy's wine country. Red wine is the favorite here. White wine is available, but primarily made from local grapes. A grape like Gewürztraminer thrives only in vineyards with sufficient coolness and freshness. This is certainly the case on the mountain slopes of Alto Adige. This Gewürztraminer is even fresher than many varieties from Alsace, where it's most commonly found. Tiefenbrunner keeps it vibrant by harvesting on time and aging it in stainless steel barrels. The result is a delicious glass of white wine with beautiful aromas of vibrant yellow fruit, a touch of spice, and a hint of honey. The taste is equally stunning; this Tiefenbrunner Gewürztraminer has notes of peach, yellow apple, sweet spices of cinnamon and nutmeg, and a touch of vanilla. Truly superb!
