Unique wines from Albert Bichot

Since 1831, the Albert Bichot winery has held a prominent position in the wine industry. Founded by Bernard Bichot, the winery has grown over the years into a leading family business. The winery owns approximately 100 hectares of vineyards in the historic center of Beaune and produces high-quality wines. Albert Bichot is known for its innovative approach to winemaking, using sustainable and organic methods in both the vineyard and the cellar. Their focus is on preserving the unique terroir of the vineyards, which is reflected in the flavors of their wines. The Pinot Noir grapes for these Vieilles Vignes come from 25- to 30-year-old vines growing in the Côte de Beaune and Côte de Nuits regions. The soils, primarily calcareous clay, contribute to the pleasant flavor and character of the final wine. Only the very best grapes are selected and then pressed in the winery. The pressed juice is transferred to oak barrels and stainless steel tanks for fermentation. Temperatures are carefully controlled, and fermentation lasts approximately 18 to 25 days. The wine is then transferred to oak barrels for aging. Aging lasts 8 to 12 months, depending on the grape characteristics and the desired flavor.

The smell and taste of Albert Bichot Vieilles Vignes Pinot Noir

The Albert Bichot Vieilles Vignes Pinot Noir has an incredibly inviting nose with prominent aromas of blackcurrant and plum. It gives the wine a sweet and fruity aroma. On the palate, it's somewhat meaty and balanced, with distinct oak notes. These notes combine with the fruity character to enrich the flavor. A beautiful balance has been achieved between fruitiness and complexity. This red Pinot Noir pairs well with grilled meats, poultry, or mild cheeses.
