A wine you don't see often, but it almost always makes you happy. Well, this Domaine des Perdrix Vosne Romanee is more like a happy, little joy dance perhaps? It comes from a beautiful vineyard in Vosne-Romanee, the famous village in the heart of the Cote de Nuits. Where the best wines are made. The estate owns a total of 1.05 hectares of vineyards here. Everything is done here to turn this vineyard into a beautiful glass of red wine. And we can only agree. What a beautiful Pinot Noir this Domaine des Perdrix Vosne Romanee is.

Completely hand-harvested for this Vosne Romanee

Domaine des Perdrix is located in the town of Premeaux-Prissey, about 30 kilometers south of Dijon in Burgundy. In 1996, Domaine des Perdrix was acquired by the Devillard family. The vineyards comprise a total of 30 hectares. The terroirs are of very high quality and therefore produce beautiful and complex wines. This estate can easily be called the family's flagship estate, with plots in renowned villages such as Gevrey-Chambertin, Nuits-Saint-George, and Vosne-Romanée. The harvest is carried out entirely by hand. The grapes are then transported to the cellar in small crates to prevent crushing. Fermentation takes place in open vats, with regular breaking of the caps, but without pumping the wine over, as this would cause the wine to become too harsh. Then follows barrel aging for 16 months. Forty percent of the barrels used are new. This vinification method creates a true Vosne-Romanée. Delicious, velvety, and polished. A beautiful balance between elegance and power.

The aroma is beautifully defined, with gorgeous fruit notes of cherries and strawberries complemented by vanilla and a hint of spice, such as cinnamon. Truly delicious! The flavor is wonderfully intense and polished, subtle, beautifully complex, with smoky notes of vanilla, wonderful acidity, and a light body. This Vosne Romanée is a powerful red wine.
