Selva Capuzza Selva Lugana

Wines from the Lugana appellations come in many different shapes and sizes. They range from light and crisp to full-bodied and fruity. The Selva Lugana from the Selva Capuzza winery is a beautiful example of a Lugana wine that perfectly captures the terroir. It's not a smooth, fruity wine, but rather one with a full body and a distinctive character.

The family business Selva Capuzza

The Selva Capuzzi estate is located about four kilometers from Lake Garda. Today, it is owned by the Formentini family and produces wine entirely according to traditional methods. Therefore, viticulture here is limited exclusively to native grape varieties. The Cascina complex dates back to the 14th century, and the main portal became the Selva Capuzzi logo. The Turbiana grapes are planted at an altitude of between 110 and 125 meters above sea level. The rolling slopes offer perfect conditions, with a perfect climate and soil rich in stone and clay. At peak ripeness, the grapes are harvested entirely by hand and transported to the winery in 20-kilogram crates. Here, the grapes are gently pressed, and the resulting must is then cooled and clarified. Alcoholic fermentation with selected yeasts then takes place in stainless steel tanks. Finally, the wine is bottled unfiltered and aged in the cellar for 18 months.

The smell and taste of Selva Capuzza Selva Lugana

When we pour the Selva Vapuzza Selva Lugana, we're immediately struck by its dark yellow color. Along with that, we can immediately savor a delightful aroma. The nose reveals notes of apple, apricot, and pineapple. Fruity and tropical at the same time, complemented by hints of fennel and dill. Thanks to the long fermentation, this wine has acquired this full and surprising aroma. The taste is immediately apparent; this is an excitingly complex wine. A full body with fresh acidity and notes of apricot and fennel. A true terroir-driven wine that clearly excels in elegance.
