Vintage Report

2023 was een uitdagend, maar uiteindelijk goed oogstjaar in Piemonte. Ondanks enkele hittegolven werden er wijnen van goede kwaliteit geproduceerd, vooral voor toegankelijke rode wijnen zoals Barbera.
This red wine is made from Barbera grapes grown in the hillside vineyards of the province of Asti. The renowned Batasiolo winery presses two different Barbera varieties, including this Sabri. This Italian red wine from Piedmont isn't as well-known as its "big brothers" Barolo and Barbaresco, but it's definitely a must-try for connoisseurs.

Wines from beautiful Piedmont

Beni di Batasiolo is one of the most important wineries in the Langhe region of Piedmont. This top producer annually produces some of Italy's finest red wines. The winery covers approximately 140 hectares of land in Piedmont, where it primarily produces Italian red wines such as Barolo and Barbaresco. Batasiolo and Spumanti also produce white and rosé wines. Along with Tuscany and Veneto, Piedmont is Italy's most important wine region, perhaps even one of the most important in the world. Piedmontese rely primarily on local grape varieties—Nebbiolo, Barbera, and Dolcetto—for their red wines. White wines include the indigenous Roero Arneis varietal, but Chardonnay is also grown. The Barbera D'Asti SaBri is a garnet-red, clear wine. The grapes are harvested by hand in the first half of October. They are fermented after a long maceration of up to twelve days. Approximately 60 to 70 percent of the wine is aged for 10 months in French oak barrels. The remainder of the Batasiolo Barbera D'Asti SaBri remains in stainless steel tanks. They are then blended, and the Batasiolo Barbera D'Asti SaBri remains in stainless steel tanks for up to 60 days before bottling.

Enjoy this powerful Barbera D'Asti Sabri

Batasiolo Barbera D'Asti Sabri is a beautiful, distinctive red wine. It has a powerful ruby red color with purple hues. On the nose, this Batasiolo Barbera D'Asti Sabri offers a beautiful bouquet of cherry, red berry, and a slight spicy note. The palate is perfect, ripe and round yet powerful. Impressions of berry and cherry are complemented by vanilla, spice, and licorice. Barbera D'Asti has a long, ripe finish, not too heavy, but rather full and smooth!
