They seemed crazy at Marchesi di Barolo when they cleared a piece of vineyard in the heart of Barolo to plant Barbera. After all, Barolo is unique and very precious, and for this reason, the Nebiolo grapes are honored as the Barolo grape. But with this red Barbera wine, Marchesi di Barolo wanted to prove that the soil and territory are unique, and that they can make a unique wine with any grape. Yes, we can certainly confirm that, so yes, this Peiragal is a unique wine made from the Barbera d'Alba grape in the heart of Barolo. So incredibly beautiful and unique, the grapes are also hand-picked, and the harvest is small. This makes this one of Marchesi di Barolo's most exclusive wines. After harvest, this wine is aged for approximately 12 months in oak barrels in the Marchesi di Barolo cellars. A warm, robust, full-bodied, and enjoyable wine. Ruby-like, almost purple in color. The aroma of this wine reveals hints of berries, currants, roasted hazelnuts, and vanilla. The palate is round, refined, and robust with abundant black and red fruit, as well as light spices, vanilla, oak, licorice, and roasted nuts. What a magnificent wine!
