Over the years, this winery has invested heavily in vineyard improvements and modern winemaking techniques, while preserving the ancient traditions of Salento.

This red wine uses Negroamaro and Malvasia Nera from Brindisi and Lecce. This blend of diversity contributes to the power of this red wine. The ancient vineyards are centuries old and date back far in time, making the soil in which the vines grow a treasure trove for the grapes. The grapes draw immense strength and nourishment from the rich soil. Combined with the perfect climate, with abundant sunshine and cool breezes, it forms the foundation for this royal wine. The rigorous hand harvest begins at night. After pressing and vinification, this Salice Salentino Riserva is aged in oak for 24 months in the cellars of Casato di Melzi. It fully develops and gains great intensity. A wine never to be forgotten.

This is Casato di Melzi's flagship wine! A Salice Salentino Riserva, a long-aged wine. The oak barrels make this wine fuller and more powerful, yet velvety smooth! The aroma, thanks to the many hours of sunshine, reveals rich aromas of black fruit, a touch of leather and vanilla, but primarily cherries and berries. The palate immediately reveals that this Casato di Melzi Salice Salentino Riserva was crafted with care; it has had plenty of rest, which has done it good. Beautifully ripe juice with notes of almond, black fruit, spice, and above all, vibrancy! A lovely ripe finish completes the whole experience!
