We've known for a long time that Italy makes beautiful wines, but this Luccarelli is truly a masterpiece of Italian craftsmanship. The winery is part of Farnese Vini, a company well-known for its affordable and progressive wines. This Luccarelli is a prime example. The grapes are grown in the beautiful and warm Puglia region. The relatively old vineyards are filled with Primitivo and Sangiovese grapes. The vineyards are planted to optimally capture the sun. This is crucial for the Primitivo and Sangiovese grapes used in this red wine. The sun allows the grapes to ripen optimally and develop a wealth of beautiful fruit nuances.

The harvest of the Luccarelli Puglia Rosso

The grapes grow near the ocean, so they receive plenty of warmth from the sun, but also cooling from the wind. This mix of weather influences is crucial for a ripe and refined harvest. The soil in which the vines grow is strong, allowing the grapes to develop a rich terroir. The thick, full bunches for this Rosso are harvested early in the morning when they are ripe, minimizing the risk of damage. Upon arrival at Luccarelli, the bunches are inspected again, and only the finest are used in this red wine. The juice is exceptionally pure and full-bodied.

When tasting this Puglia gem, we were struck by a beautiful, intense ruby-red color with violet reflections. The aroma, where to begin? A red wine bursting with aromas of ripe red fruit, red berries, and forest fruits. The aromas perfectly match the flavor nuances we tasted. The rich red fruit is pleasantly present, making it a medium-bodied red wine. The tannins are soft and subtle. All the flavors are perfectly balanced. This Luccarelli Rosso Puglia is a delicious aperitif wine but can also be paired with dishes featuring red meat, pasta, or cheese.
