Vintage Report

The 2020 vintage in Tuscany produced wines of excellent quality that are still tannic and youthful. With scores up to 92T, this is considered a year with great potential for further aging.

Le Stanze is made from a special selection of Cabernet Sauvignon grapes from the best-situated areas of various vineyards, supplemented with a small amount of Cabernet Franc. It is aged for twelve months in new 500-liter French oak barrels. As with Elegia, the Toscana IGT designation was chosen. The use of Cabernet Sauvignon exclusively is not permitted for wines with a DOC or DOCG. With an IGT, the oenologist is free to use as much Cabernet Sauvignon as they wish. This creates a wine with a unique style. The recognition from the international wine press and enthusiasts confirms that this is a hit.

Poliziano's dream

With the arrival of a new generation of owners, the Poliziano winery has undergone a revolutionary transformation. Today, Federico Carletti is at the helm, responsible for this transformation. Previously, the winery produced wines that were sold to large bottling companies, who then used them to refine weaker wines. However, this Italian's goal was to produce and bottle wines himself. Achieving this dream required a wealth of knowledge. But the necessary practical experience and expertise were certainly not lacking. Since his arrival in 1981, the company has risen rapidly.

A poetic wine with a strong attack

A modern red wine named Le Stanze, the title of an excellent poem by the poet Angelo Ambrogini. Made from Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, Le Stanze is a classic "Bordeaux" blend, conceived in Tuscany, that also appeals to international palates and emphasizes the value of the Montepulciano territory and its potential for producing excellent wines for aging. Concentrated blackcurrant, pepper, and vanilla notes make this a seductive and creamy wine, with delicious black fruit, spices, ripe tannins, and a lovely length. Serve it with game, red meat, or a hearty piece of cheese.
