Vintage Report
The 2024 harvest was carefully timed to retain maximum acidity in the fruit despite the Mediterranean heat . This resulted in a well-balanced, refreshing, and aromatic wine [1, 3].
Southern Italy is the place for delicious rosés. Here, they have beautiful, characterful blue grapes, perfect for making a flavorful rosé. And this Rosato Puglia is a wonderful example. Made entirely from the Negroamaro grape, which thrives in Puglia. The fine bitterness of this grape gives the rosé an exciting character.
Refreshing wines from Pieno Sud
Pieno Sud Winery focuses entirely on the production of indigenous grape varieties, producing wines that transport the drinker to the southern Italian sun. Therefore, it's crucial to time the harvest carefully. This is the only way to maintain maximum acidity in the fruit, resulting in well-balanced and refreshing wines. These are qualities normally lacking in grapes grown in the Mediterranean heat. But Pieno Sud has perfected them over the years, making these wines absolutely not to be missed. The Negroamaro grapes for the Rosato are grown on poorer clay soils, which, however, give the wine a rich aroma. The grapes are carefully harvested and taken directly to the winery. Here, they undergo a short maceration on the skins to achieve their beautiful pale pink color. Cold fermentation follows, ensuring that all the fruit notes are released. What does Pieno Sud Rosato Puglia taste like?
The Rosato Puglia from the Pieno Sud estate has a medium pink color and is incredibly seductive. This is partly due to its wonderful aromas. It's full-bodied and powerful on the nose with a hint of spice and bay leaf. Fruity notes of raspberry and orange blossom also clearly emerge. The taste is equally delightful. Powerful and aromatic on the palate. Mild and juicy with a slight sweetness. The sweetness is perfectly balanced with good acidity and bitterness. Perfect as an aperitif, but also delicious with cold meat and pasta dishes.Product details
